    The 18 Hour Day

We were up at 4:30am having bacon, eggs and black pudding on what looked to be a great day. We returned the the truck at 10:30pm later that day after another great adventure at a block that we have been visiting once or twice a year since 2011.
It’s a great area that potentially has pigs, deer, goats and chamois, although we didn’t see any chamois this time.
Both my brother and I shot a deer each and had a great day walking around glassing for game, although you’ll see that we took our motor bikes, these saved us very little walking in the end.

I put together a quick video that highlights the excellent adventure.

It sure is, you can sit up high and see so many different things, not just game animals!

We started out trips down there sleeping by the State Highway/rail line. We’ve refined our trips over the years and now stay in a motel unit in town! A bit soft but makes for a great nights sleep and a great feed. The only trouble is that you get back to Kaikoura very late at night, luckily there’s a great fish and chip shop open until midnight!

We keep saying, next time we’ll camp up on the hill... we used t do that.

On a nice day the views would be amazing, as you say even even the views around the coast line. Past through that way this year for the first time and had breakfast in a cafe with views back into the kaikoura tops covered in snow .Amazing place

Cool Video. Great place to hunt and so handy to the comforts of life. Couple of nice eaters for the freezer.

I had to slow down on the YZF to let him catch up on the XT. But mind you the ag bikes are always better in the real right stuff!
