1st hunt for the new year

Got to bed as early as I could last night as I knew I was getting up at 1.30 am.....

I managed to get Ashlee up & organised in time for Veitnamcam to show up at 2.00 am

Got to the car park, I huffed & puffed & nearly spewed my way up the hill.....Good times.....

The wind wasn't to bad, but it slowly picked up as we got to the tops on day break.

We split up to cover a bit more ground Cam went one way, Ashlee & I the other.

Nothing was seen but the crap weather was coming from the west

It went from this as we turned for home.

To this as we caught up with Cam & headed back down the hill

Apart from a wet arse it was a great way to start 2014

Good on you guys for being out there. I have fresh venison in the fridge but cheated big time this morning.

Instead of a hunt , I went for a fish like a lot of us do. But was fishing from the wharf in Raglan and did not get anything.
How ever I saw the cost guards getting out with jet skis and their big boat and come back a few hours later.
Apparently two guys capsized on the Bar and lost their 5 m boat. They are safe and back to shore but WHAT a way of starting the year!

    Friwi.
