With the forests open to hunting for permit holders again we went for a drive this arvo.
The weather was pretty average, blowing, with mist/clouds up high, so was treating it as a recce mission.
Saw some goats on the way on the side of the main road so thought it mightn't be too bad
Things weren't looking that flash, then on the way back down there was a small mob of Billys on the road, naturally they gapped it
But being on the inside of a horse shoe bend we had a chance especially being down wind in a stiff breeze, I smelt them before we saw them in the trees.
I have decided to take a big bore with me each time we go this year to give them some use,
We decided to start with the smallest, who knew Billy Goats don't appreciate a 9.3 x 62 at 15-20 metres
I got a couple of big stinky boys, both dropped on the spot, good old 270 grainers
My partner shot a couple as well with the trusty 7.08
Thinking I might take the 375 H&H tomorrow
