    Another Chook botherer dispatched

Slow day here doing difficult quoting work (well it is for a broken down old fencer @Waynesworld haha)

Here is the chook run . . . From kitchen window

If you look carefully you can just see a decoy magpie beside the gate, not placed to decoy but just to give you the range!

So a bunch of "old mates" have been harassing the chooks forever and occasionally get picked off in the paddock but it takes a heck of a lot of patience and luck to snot one actually on the chook run (take a look at the backdrop).

Well today my luck was in and old mate's ran out - I do miss occasionally haha. He was hopping about behind the gate and posts but then decided to raise a finger to me from the faraway front corner of the coop. POP went the wee Stevens 044 1/2 in 22 LR at 40M and although he did fly it was only to the ground behind the big trees - where he's now having a long sleep behind an electric fence - hence no victory photo.

But just for good fun here is one of the rifle, marvelously rebuilt and relined by @akaroa1 - my favorite "rustoration"!

PS - to even the odds and get a safer angle I didn't take the shot from inside the house.

No wonder i dont shoot anything. For the life of me i couldn't see anything to shoot.
No botherer, no chook, no road signs or anything. I trust you that it was a magnificent hunt and you had a better day at work than me coz i was working but a yard photo ?

Exactly the response my yarn deserves cause fark the forum has been boring lately, a very few guys sharing hunting stories but most just moaning (sorry commenting) about everything except hunting!

So any comment on hunting(?) is great - bring it on.

It's only a shooting story if the count is under 1000 words

    Hunting story over 1000 minimum

    Didn't happen because no picture

Righteous. Used to carry a cricket wicket on the bike to and from school to keep the local nesting magpies in check.
