    Another nelson stag goes down to the 243

    Another very quick report(full story on dark side). When for another look to see what the country is like further back where I shot the velvet stag last week. Didn't get far, 5 mins and spook two stags. Managed to yell at one and stopped it. Some good shooting with the 243 and I have my second stag in two weeks

    Very nice. You'll have plenty of venison now for the Xmas bbq.

    Was this on public land? Reason I ask is that I might move to the sunny Nelson region one day soon.

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Sure was, I only hunt DOC land around here. Normally have to do hard yards but I get a few. Always good to get a easy one or two

    That's it for the next couple of years....its too deerless around here to take any more out of towners deer stalkers. I have to move north to get the easy ones lol
