    BB taxidermy extrordinaire!!!!!!

I have been looking for a reasonable enough headskin for almost a year for the 10 6/8 Cham I got last year as the original skin was abit fooked due to less than glamerous shooting!

Last Friday I went over the hill to long time friend PJ RITCHIE from rangitata
    retired taxidermist extrordinaire!
I decided I was gonna help do this to add to the nostalgia of ther finished mount!
At 83 years old PJ is still very active and would give most 50yr olds a run for their money!!

Well I tried to help but ended up with a slap round the face!

Heres part one of the mounting which included the skinning out of the head.. getting the skin pickling and casting the cast for the skin to go on.. we also screwed on the horns to the cast ready to go!
If ya want a description of anything post and ill do my best to explain!

It takes 3 weeks to properly pickle and tan the skin so hopefully ill be back it a month for another slap round the face and to finish my mount!!!!

Ill also photograph part 2 of mounting and post up in a similar fashion!!

    Cheers guys!

That is phenominal. Never seen it done before.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

All heads are done the same just different moulds are used and different cuts made on the skin when you skin her out!

Great pair of hooks mate, certainly worth the effort to mount.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Thats a wicked process to watch BB. Very interesting, and a very nice set of hooks too!

Looking forward to the 2nd stage of the process.
