    Been awhile

Hunting has takin a back seat last few years, got into LR, had a fair few rifles with teething issues and really took the fun out of it all

But been trying to get back on the wagon

Hitched a ride in a r22 to the tops on Friday at 4pm, the rain hit not long after landing.

Friday night spent glassing in the rain, 1 hind and Twins spotted, no stags

    Rain eased around 4am

Up at daylight, rather claggy, sidle round and drop into the guts as useless using the binos

Get onto some fresh sign and a couple of guts over I have a stag standing there looking at me, holding 6 hinds, bang bang bang it's finally down, buck fever was pumping hard - it's been awhile, 11 pts PB

Back over the ridge to camp, pack camp up and head for the exit, an open creek head, only a few wee waterfalls to get past, found a good cast with great length on the way down

4hrs to the bottom and set up camp at 5pm, couldn't walk any thurther, legs and back were shot

Up before daylight today, been raining all night, had to get down valley before river rose and becomes uncrossable, only 3hrs back to the wagon

Feel quite good about it all

    Chur

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Well done. Big animal that threw that cast.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

20inch 300wsm, vx6 2-12, didn't need the bipod, note no sling, I like to carry it in my pack so my rifle is always in hand when hunting, can save a couple of precious seconds
