Brief report on a wet ass and a couple table animals

Rained alot to day didn't really stop to be fair.

None the less we poked our head out for a look the fallow were bedded down in cover away from the weather . I spent a few hours stalking only to find one we buck and see some backs moving threw the fern so out into some more open country we headed stalking threw patches of bush to known clearings, at the very last clearing the dog started winding and indicating threw a gap in the manuka where a dozen or so deer were trying to sneak off quick neck shot and the tasty wee spiker went down .

Cleaned up average photos with a wet phone taken and off to try and find an Arapawa. After abit of searching I found 12 way up high not to worried about the rain unfortunately the only ram in this mob was white not brown like most of the others that I'd seen and also a younger animal than some of the others I'd seen .

I aimed on his chest squeezed off and nothing happened so gave another when they'd stopped and again nothing the 3rd I think was a miss. I managed to put on a chase and cut them off and gave him one more a 60 yards to which he dropped . When cleaning him up I found the jackets of the bullets in the wool and the last shot the lead had managed to push threw once leaving the jacket and deflect and hit his spine poor bugger. Lesson learnt their amaxs dont like wool.

Also a good day to give the New scope a thrashing and good test performed well in the bad weather left the bloody scope caps at home so spent most its day full of water .

All in all it was a good day it's being awhile works being madness . The Arapawa were fun very flighty wild animals wasnt overly sure how I'd feel about "hunting" sheep but their cunning eye sight seems great and dont hang around to find out what your upto.
