Having been to both Vancouver and the island many years ago I would still love to have done what you just did. Sadly for me paddling is out of the question.

No just fish and crabs [emoji3]

There were heaps of shellfish out there too. Big clams, oysters, mussels and gooey duck but we couldn't eat them due to the risk of PSP (paralytic shellfish poisoning) caused by red tide.

If you were out there in a month with an 'r' in it you could literally live of them [emoji106]

Still working on the NZ Bucket list. Very enticing though.
