Thread: Christmas Buck

Last day of work for the year.. finished early and off after a cham!
4 hours up through the bush had us setting up camp at 9pm, whilst old mate D is putting the finishing touches on his newly purchased tent I decided to pop over the edge for a wee look at our playground for the next 2 days.. didn't even get the binos up picked up some movement less 150 yards below. Snuck back up to camp and grabbed the camera and rifle, watched a young animal for a while then went a little further over to check out a piece of hidden ground and spooked a buck that gave me a whistle a disappeared around the hillside.. bugger! Took some more photos of the young one and decided to call it quits, stood up and and the young one took off, which must of alerted the buck again and curiosity got the better of him and he emerged out of the gut.. no time for the camera and one well placed shot with the 7mm08 had him dropped on the spot (luckily as it was a huge long chute just behind him)

Spent the next 2 days up there with a few more animals sighted but no bucks for D to get his sights on
