    Day in the Sun

Well the day started with alarm going off to early. Quick pack and away. Was planned as a 'Get Another Head For The Boy' trip. In the carpark with darkness still on our side. Off up the river and detoured off to where we were heading. Half way up, I decided it may turn into a fact finding mission instead.

Fact 1: The hill doesn't look as steep from the bottom as it does when panting up them

Fact 2: The shortest route is not necessarily the best

Fact 3: Every time you crest a brow there's always one more before you get to the top

Fact 4: After glassing a good looking basin, and having a quick bite, it's always a good idea to top up the drink bottles. Much better to wear out the young legs. While he was fannying about down there, the old man was taking in the views.

Fact 5: Fresh prints mean you were there to late

Fact 6: The view from the top is worth it.

Fact 7: Scree is the quickest way down a hill bar none.

So another piece of the hill walked, no animals spotted except the ewes we stalked for a while. Confidence in the boy has improved, especially crossing scree, limits reached and deciding when to bail out. If only my legs were younger, but you're supposed to stop every now and then to glass the area. I'll teach him the ways......my ways
