Thread: DEEP SHOULDER STAG.

Photographed this big boy.Very deep in the shoulders.At 600yds up a step bushy mountain i was very temped to unleash the 300wm.But retreiving him wouldv killed me or my back and i might have wounded him.Buitifull to watch him sort out the other 2 stags trying to pinch his 3 girls,the battle to and thro went on for about 2 hrs.i could see his white tips.It was a privlege to watch these boys in action.
No stags for me this season,but iv got a couple of good wall hanger and the freezer got plenty of veni in it.
Hind i shot last week,took me a good hour to find in long broom and grass.Was trying out new ammo,Hornady white tail 165 gr sp.Bullit a hit bit high,deer walked about 10 mtrs,it was a solid hit so i wasnt giving up the search.

I decided the Hornady ssts pencil abit and at $72-75 a box,time for a change.Got the HWT SP 165gr for $53x 4boxs seems to group ok.
