    Easy hunt with the 308

After a write up by Kelton he got me aspired to take the 308 for a walk.
A quick 25minute drive and seeing a couple of road side deer keeps one’s hopes high at first light. Chuck a bit of gear on the bike and away I went, with in 5 minutes at the first gate driving up through some patches of Manuka had three deer peel off, then another four going up through a slip. Bit slow getting gun out on that one. Get up to a higher paddock with a frinken cold southerly blowing, wind not doing me any favours. Making my way up to high point had half a dozen deer feed over a ridge towards the bush about 400 yards a head of me, carried on up to where these deer were. Sneaking up to the ridge standing there I thought was a yearling. A quick neck shot at 70 yards first deer down, then big hind runs out and comes to a stop same results😀.sako hammerhead doing its job

Good time of year to cull a few hinds before they fawn. Not far away

@hebe didn't see a lot on Saturday but it was a cold southerly and bit cloudy. That was up past where my huts was. Hardest thing now I don't know where the stock is and whats gone on during the week hopefully should be back working there in the new year
Grass is coming away and the ongaonga is pumping
