Thanks everyone, we had a quick measure on one side and he was about 34" long on the right hand side we measured for curiosity. He wasn't shot on a private block as such but more so somewhere that has restricted access, although a lot of different people hunt it throughout the year.

And yes I'm definitely still a 7mm guy as my all round preferred pill size haha, especially in the larger cartridges. I have just got a rem 700 short magnum action from a GC @Kelton that is to become a 7mm SAUM as my next project. I am loving this little 260 though! Seems to be my lucky little gun at the moment. Good thing I'm taking it to Wapiti country with me!

I have just returned from the drive to the taxidermist tonight (Jason at Ruahine Taxidermy). Now comes the long 8 months in anticipation to get him back!

    Hmm.... well done
Highly envious from the north, land of no deer.

My trips booked for mid march onwards, chomping on the bit to get amongst it.

Nice stag mate, my brother got a head mounted by Jason and it was a bit longer than 8 months , he is a busy boy, but worth the wait. Cheers

Sounds like a place in central North island, the infamous Waiberia.

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

That would be a great Head for a south island head, let alone a free range North Island Animal.
Very Impressed. You must be stoked with that one.
