    I was hoping for one each. But I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. The farmer loves the deer going to charity (maybe not so much to my relations ) and really encourages me. It helps to keep numbers down too because they have to be controlled. He refers to them as "vermin", but curiously was very angry when a casual hunter shot an outstanding head in the velvet - so he still appreciates a good head and likes having them around. When he told me about the big velvet he said "you could have shot that during the roar". Nice.

    Parboiled til fork tender. Hard to stop them drying out when baking.

    Well it turned out that the maximum weight per bag was 23kg and our 2 were 25kg each. So I had to pay $40 for the excess weight. Not too bad because there was 28kg of boned venison in them plus presents and personal stuff.

    The things we do to appease blended families, eh.
