Family fun times in the pines

My good mate @grunter has been getting his twin boys and wife doing a bit of shooting with a centrefire the few months. And at the range they can all shoot pretty well now out to 300 or so yards.

The time had come to get them out in front of some animals. So we tracked down a forestry block that was meant to have a few about and arranged a permit.

After a bit of fun getting into the block...and carrying out a field test between Mud terrain and All terrain tyres and giving the snatch strap an outing we got both vehicles into where we wanted to be.

We saw a deer just before the above pic was taken, but a shot was out of the question.

A great time was had by all, Grunters wife got to shoot her first ever animal which she did a good job of.

Things didn't quite pan out with getting the boys to shoot goats, plenty seen but wrong place wrong time.

    Good times with good mates.

Great way to teach the young ones on goats, things like bullet placement and using the right caliber/ projectile for the job. Always good value those family outings.

That slippery little ramp in pic above was at the entrance to the block, I got up it without drama, but he didn't. Very slippery clay that just caked up the tyres instantly. I had a snatch strap so just gave him a little hand up after he failed 3 attemps.

As I said to you when I got the tyres, I don't need the MT's very often, but when ya need them you need them
