Fatty and Fatty get off the couch.

I have put on a lot of weight since quiting smoking around 20 months ago and buying a boat hasnt helped that at all as any decent forcast I am fishing instead of hunting. So fatty number one is me.
A work mate more than 10 years my junior is also a fatty but doesnt have a boat and never smoked so must just be a greedy prick! Fatty number two.

The Sako had been languishing un touched in the safe for some time, the marine forcast was shithouse and the alpine forcast was great after a few days of snow and gales so a plan was hatched to head up the lake for a bush stalk.

There is better places to bush stalk but I just like it up there and I had never had my boat in fresh water yet

Picked up mate around 7am and off up the Gowan valley,it was bloody cold with a real hard frost. So hard when I went to wash my windsheild with the squirters it instantly froze on the window and was smeared by the wipers. progress slowed considerably then but we were almost there.

    lil Toot.

There was a few freshish prints around in the leaf litter at the lake edge but nothing to get excited about, climbing up to get to where the animals usually are was fairly easy and what little wind there was couldnt make up its mind which way to go as usual but I got the smell of deer once but it was after the wind changed from being up my arse so it was already miles away I think.

As we got some altitude and into the nice stalking bush the snow on the ground got thicker and crunchier.
This was a bastard and a miscalculation on my part...I thought most of it would have melted with the forcast.

We climbed higher and circled back to the boat finding even more sign up there which was a little surprising considering the weather the previous days.

Bumped one on the way back down but a crash and a few shaking regen trees was all I saw.

Good to get out all the same and I just love it up there.

    Real deep on the tops.

Good on you for getting out there VC.
Old Fatty here is trying to get his A into G more often too. I prefer the flatter stuff for now, as do my knees.

Bloody hell I thought when you dragged me way up there you were trying to kill me so you could steel my stuff. Thats a wee climb. it is nice there.
No snow where i was yesterday BUT the paddocks were so waterlogged we could not drive on them and the bush was wetter and slippery'er than usual
I gained 25kgs when I quit smoking and sadly it remains

    On ya VC.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
