Film 39: First deer with the 147gr ELD-M

This one's a short one - went for a quick trip to find a deer, found one, shot it. ELD-M worked. Cameraman (me) is useless.

The only problem with your videos is there aren't enough of them
did they "feel" better than the 143's?

I'm happier with the 147s after one kill than I was with the 143s at any point during the 6-8 I got with them, that's all I can say at this point.

Cool video even with the camera out of the shot. Look forward to see a few more animals getting dropped with the 147gr.
What steel is the Benchmade knife?

Thanks - can't believe I stuffed up filming the shot on the animal again.

It's CPM-S30V, but seems to be "better" than other S30V knives I have. I've done 3 deer with it now and it's magical.

470 metres - although I generally don't shoot things at ranges of much over 300m, this time I gave up getting closer in favour of a better shooting position.

Interesting you say that, Its the main reason I sold my 7mmRM rifle. I range deer at 600m+ but end up thinking to my self "just how close can I get?" and end up shooting at a complete max of 300m realistically, normally sub 200m.

Nice video Gimp, if you don't mind I'm going to copy that technique next time I miss or have an animal run after the shot... ;-)

    Opps I kicked the tripod.

The new projectiles are great, aren't they?

    :-)
