I shot my last deer in Dec 2020, then decided to try and get one with the bow in 2021. I got close to a deer, missed one, got the bow drawn back on another. So with the freezer being empty I decided to use the rifle again. One overnight trip, one deer seen, one shot. Using the rifle is sooo easy.

Nice work. So who is the wee hound?
The hound is Lily. She is coming up 3 years old. She has got me close to a couple of deer with the bow, but couldn’t seal the deal. She hasn’t had to do much tracking yet as most of the deer kills she has been on the deer has dropped on the spot.

The difficulty of hunting with a rifle is created by the hunter himself. For example, I try to get as close to the prey as possible, at the risk of it escaping me, but I never shoot more than 50 meters.
I hope this is not misinterpreted.

@bunji Blaser K95 Standard model chambered in 7x65R shooting a 162 a-max at 2750fps. Scope is a Leupold VX6 2-12x42. My bow is a PSE EVO NXT 33 with 70lb draw. I have shot a pig with it just after Christmas last year.Quote:

If you have the hogback stock make sure the butt is on your shoulder properly, I’ve missed a couple of uphill shots with having the butt too low and it slipping down on the shot.
