Yes those TA trampers are costing the taxpayer - quite common for yearly rescues due to a number of mishaps with their lightweight style of tramping in NZ. Lending them your cooker for a meal - how do you think they would complete the rest of their tramp? I was in another hut a few years ago and when we returned from a hunt, one of our gas cookers was gone - the hut on the TA trail. Don't trust the tight pricks. Anyway nice area you guys flew into - I prefer to hunt across the river side. If the river is up then behind the hut the back up option. And the fire place - we removed most of the rocks last year to lower the fire base - heat is going all up the chimney as it is. lol

After watching Tahr hunting vids on TV I never thought I'd get to hunt one myself cause the terrain just looked too challenging.
After hearing about Lowvember at my local NZDA and going on a club hut I now have a decent bull and an obsession.
Just need to get a good coat off one next
