    First time tahr!

    Just a short story as we have a article going into a mag about this epic trip. But we got @Jit @WillB onto some tahr and had a epic time. I値l put up the full story when it gets published cheers. A nice 13-1/4 bull and a 12.5 bull. Among others. Name:  EA0A1CBC-56CC-4840-81F7-CAF2609FADD2.jpeg

    I知 more interested in what fancy rifle you used this time!!

    I know @Jit will have a flash rifle too.

    Sako 708 putting the tahr down since ages ago. Also a custom 7mmsaum defiance action etc etc. sako is where it’s all at.

    It was a really amazing experience for me - first South Island hunting trip but I sure hope it wasn't my last. Thanks @dale @Jit (and Justin) for sharing it with me.

    Lone Peak Ti. Trigger tech, Proof Carbon barrel, Quatromax brake, kiwi composites stock. Hawkins rings and Z6. Spartan bipod. 7mm Blaser, 180eldm @ 3020.

    5 Shots on this trip = 5 animals. 4 Thar, 1 red.

    I知 thinking of getting a Spartan bipod, I致e convinced Wayne at the Upper Hutt Gun Shop to get three different models in, they値l be there on Monday.

    What do you think of yours?

    The east coast is always more forgiving and more suited to first timers

    In fact we all use them. Good especially if you get them mounted in the stock. Great for longer shots where you time for a set up. If not I still use the pack. Couple tahr and Red using the bipod at longer range. Perfect. Keep it handy and close. Justin found a way to clip on the bino harness, I keep mine in an outside easy access pocket.
    It痴 my 2nd go at them and the design has improved in this model especially if you can use the full flush mount.
