    First Winter Bull Tahr

For those who were aware of my post in the hunt section you will have got a glimpse of how my first winter Tahr trip played out. Over the course of a few evenings I've been piecing together the video and then finally finished it off today.

As you will see, I had a pretty bad day on the hill when shooting my bull and we had some challenging weather but boy was it still an epic trip with some awesome up close encounters. Hope you enjoy.

Just one bit of advice, you guys who sit cooking food with your cooker between your legs, don't do that. If/when they go pop, you roast all your soft bits. I've been to a couple of incidents where cookers have gone off and it's not pretty.
Good tip thanks mate, its a bit of a habit from training I have received in another field. Will remember for next time!

Great trip and video well done both you guys. The 140 gr SST held together well. Great country with numbers of animals. What caliber were you using ?

Neat video, big walk and two great skins. Looks like you just snuck in between wether systems too. I’ve got a couple of gear questions that I’ll PM you!

Yup - a great vid well worth watching and one that much can be learnt from, both in terms of hunting ethics and also gear. @craigc - please if possible keep the questions public, then we can all learn.

I really liked the use of the fly for a sheltered "lunch break" and am bloody annoyed I never thought of doing it myself. Carrying the fly could also be a lifesaver, I've had a couple of fairly hair-raising descents in the dark after staying "up" too late to wait out bulls, where a night under a fly till daylight might have been a safer option.

Good watch SS. Like you said the weather could have been better but at least you both secured a great skin each.
