    Friday night up town...

Like you do on a Friday, Brian and I went up town last night...crawled into bed at 3am this morning.

There was the odd one around and Brian had a chance but missed out when it disappeared.
Right on dark I spotted 3 at 400 yards and had to take the shot(s) from where I was. 2 shots grouped nicely and made it wobly but weren't perfectly placed, and the 3rd (neck shot) knocked it over.

This time it only took 45mins to get back to the quad and it wasn't too difficult.

Yeah, they are a good bullet the NBT. 120gr have been good for me. Those shots were too low and a bit back, but it wasn't going anywhere.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

How did those bullets perform at 400 yards Bruce starting to run out of puff, would the accubonds or E tip have worked any better at that range?

They were fine. They went right through and did quite a bit of damage. It's just that I shot a bit low and the wind drifted them a bit. I've shot plenty of others around that range with them and they have done the damage. I think a harder bullet like the AB would have performed worse and likely pencilled.

I remember now I shot one once up at Jack's with my 300winmag at about 300 yards and hit it in the same place and it travelled quite a way before tipping over.

Having said that though, I have always reckoned that the 6.5x55 and 7-08 can be slow killers around 400 yards and out.
