I like your choice of calibre, barrel length and projectile. I use a similar set up.

    Thanks Craig,

Yeah i have a feeling this rifle will get taken out a lot, its just so usable and multi-purpose. Much of the travel on Sunday was thru tight scrub and snow-fall damaged bush, the shortish rifle (21 inch total barrel length including suppressor) was handy getting thru that crap.

It comes up nice shooting freehand up close, and with the 162 Amax at 2,740 it still has the energy and velocity out to 800 yards, which is further than i am ever likely to shoot game in the hills proper. Suppressors are certainly growing on me and the fact that it can just stay on this rifle the whole time while being carried etc is nice and hassle free. Whereas my 22" barreled 7SAUM, i carry without the suppressor and fit it before making a shot, which is just another thing to do while getting ready if im not sitting on a lookout all set to go.

Using the long action mag in the T3 makes it possible to run the amax seated out nice and long and still fit the magazine, which is nice after single feeding the Model 7 SAUM.

I couldnt be happier with it.
