Myself and Philipo headed up to my neck of the woods for a fly camp to see if there was anything going on, weather was a bit of a fizzer up in the high water heads but no roars were heard even if they were roaring we wouldn't have heard thru the wind and in some cases not seen them thru the clag.In saying that I got to show Philipo some new bits of the Ruahines. After freezing our butts of on sat morning looking into some nice headwaters we made the decision to head down into some shelter with the idea of seeing if some deersies were looking for the same thing.truns out they were
Philipo was talking me to sleep and he was just about to dose of himself as we were out of the wind enjoying some warmth our selves when doris walked onto the slip we were(philipo was really as I was sort of dozing and occasionaly agreeing to his stories)watching.
Then a tasty little yearling poked its head out to long and I rushed and shot it high in the shoulder it stumbled down and started to sway but I plugged it again and it dropped.it had a neat snake bite high in the shoulder(underestimated the downward angle).
Shot from up there between the toi toi.
Anyway it was a great flycamp weeknd in the bush made even better with the company of a genuine good bugger Philipo,no stags seen or heard but we took meet home and had a few laughs at the same time.
The hard part lol gear wash time
Jase.
