My apologies guys but my phone keeps kicking me off the site after a few minutes of typing so will have to tell this wee story in 'parts' ....
So head up around the corner in the photo nice and quiet and the area opened up slightly.
Scan the scene and spot movement on the edge of the pines. A seven point stag nibbling away and soaking up the sun on what is proving to be a rarity here at moment - a sunny day...
He was around 250 mtrs away and we decided we should be able to move closer undected if careful and managed to get in around to about 180 then the stag started looking wary so took the shot from there . Deer down

So gut him out and decided to keep walking further up river .
Another 100 mtrs up river and 2 pigs mooching around on the bank at around 80mtrs .
We both just looked at each other with mildly surprised grins on our faces and tried to set ourselves up for the shots. Not easy when standing knee deep in the river. So we make our way into shallower water but couldn't exit river due to high banks in the section we were in.
So I end up on my hands and knees in the river with the water lapping at my belly , with the bipod resting on an exposed rock and rifle supported with my shooting hand and other hand mid bicep underwater supporting my upper body.
A perfect example of why I practice shooting in odd positions when I can for just such a situation....
So....2 pigs down
Con't ...
