The work christmas do was last night. If there is one time of year I detest it's Christmas. So I made the wise decision and went to Arthur's pass instead. Left Christchurch at 5 pm. Arrived at the car park at 7 pm. Walked a brisk 40 minutes. Sat down in my favourite spot chambered a 140 gn BT and waited. 8:10 pm four deer came bounding out of the scrub without a care in the world. The leader being a silly yearling spiker. The dead right thing for the BBQ. They were walking right towards me lying in the grass with the family friendly tikka. Crack thunk one dead deer lay 70 yds away. Could of shot another but will leave them for next time. By 8:30 pm I had all the entrails out the deer on my back and was on my way. Arrived at the car 10:30pm. Home with venison chilling 12:30 pm. Shower bed by 1 am. No hangover today:
