A good hunt and an unlucky fallow

    hey everyone.

went for a walk with a friend to one of my favourite spots last night, we sat a good vantage point and had a drink while looking at about 15 deer scattered over the hill side all over a kilometer away, was bloody good to see since we were on doc land. we fetched a plan to head over to the next ridge and see if we could get ourselves one. we sat for a bit longer had another drink then i spied a fallow yearling in a clearing about 400m below us which was strange to see since we deep in red country. we set up at 340 yards, BOOM went the 270wsm and the yearling dropped with a neckshot, you bloody beauty we said to eachother. she was the fattest little deer i had ever seen.

on our way home we ended up with another deer, a fallow hind jumped out of the bush 10 meters in front of us as we were driving up the road, without a chance to even blink she went under the front of the ute, i slammed on the brakes and jumped out expecting to find a deer running away down the road but instead found we had run her head over completly smashing it to pieces. we backed up and threw her on and off home we went with 2 nice fat fallows for the barbie
