Went out with me mate that has access to a good local property for a morning hunt. We checked all the normal spots but come up empty handed. On the way out we checked a spot close to a Swede paddock and as we drove in the gate spotted a stag head down gorging himself on the red clover, he didn’t even look up despite being about 100 yards away. A 200 gr ELDX out of my 300 WM had him destined for the chiller.
Turned out to be a young 9 pointer missing his bay tynes so was a good one to be out of the gene pool.
You gotta love those easy ones you drive up to.
