    Great Start to the year!

Went up to one of our private fallow and sambar blocks with HH2, Hunter his 8 month old GWP and my little girl Ellie.

Was an amazing trip, saw 30 deer over the 3 days, Hunter indicated his first deer, Ellie showed that she loved hunting, doesn't mind a big gun and found out that she loves deer on the ground! and to top it off we managed to take a nice buck.
out of this area they do get a bit bigger but this is pretty close to as good as you find.
No monster maybe around the 205-210 DP region but a great hunt and with a 453m heart shot on film had him on the deck.
caped him out for a wall pedestal and having the velvet injected.
More pics to come when I get them.
    Cheers,
    BH

What bugs me is soft velvet stags, I can't congratulate someone who shoots a soft velvet stag...sorry, but no way from me.

    ^^^^^ring any bells?

Are you not supposed to say touché when you thrust a sword and get a strike like that VC? Great cross thread monitoring.

haha injected as in I want the head to be mounted in velvet and I don't want to strip him, he's hard underneath. Had started peeling on the tip of his right brow and down the seam of the main beam

Unique "trophy", I have a friend who has a couple of whitetail bucks and a sika stag mounted in velvet, and they look quite cool. Hard to beat that dark polished up hard antler though
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
