    Gulf trip 2018

Hi fellas, a few photos from our recent trip to the gulf chasing barra and pigs. We were away for 2 weeks, a bit different up there to hunting around home, bloody hot, a lot of travelling from the hut to fish or hunt, and just about everything wants to kick bite or scratch you! The biggest worry I reckon is bumping into the scrub bulls. Saw heaps of scrub bulls, a few brumbies, a couple of buffalo bulls, again give them plenty of space. The fishing was pretty good, the biggest barra caught was 124cm. The pigs were pretty spread out being late in the dry season, it was a bit too hot to hunt with the dogs too much, the best results were walking the billabongs in the hottest part of the day and finding them camped up under the trees.[ATTACH]98412[ATTACH]98413[ATTACH]98414[ATTACH]98415[ATTACH]98416[ATTACH]98412[ATTACH]98413[ATTACH]98414[ATTACH]98415Name: IMG_5917.JPG

Yes please fix up your post so we can see the other photos.

Interesting time of the year to go up there, it being the build up to the big wet. You are braver than me, I wouldn’t be caught up there this time of the year if you paid me double! Strictly winter only!

What was the bush looking like after all the dry years they’ve had up there? I think they’ve finally had some pretty good rain in the last year? Where were you exactly ?

yeah we were pretty lucky with the weather,it did get pretty humid a few days but at least it was cool of a night. We were in the Doomagee area, they haven`t had a decent wet season for 5 or 6 years so you could drive up a lot of the swamps that would normally have some water in them, and a lot of the water holes were dry or a bit of water in the middle of the cubungee weed.
