As you might of seen on here I have had a new rifle built.
This weekends mission was to blood the new rifle.
Anyway my rifle turned up at work on Wednesday that night I had the Talley rings on and the scope fitted, Thursday morning before work I had some loads done ready for testing Thursday night was sorting out loads and breaking in the new barrel. Friday night I chronyed the load I have semi settled on and final sight in.
Talking to Shaka on Friday night and we were all go for Saturday morning. Up before the sparrows and off we went. By 9am still hadn't seen a deer in all the usual spots so headed up and over to another wee vantage point by now the wind had started to blow and shit it was cold. Shaka says if we don't see a deer in the next 5 seconds we should head off, I did a final scan of the area with the Binos and there is a couple down there. We sidle around to a heading ridge we have been on plenty of times before and down to a shooting spot we have. We ended up on the wrong spur and found an opening in the trees to have a look, bugger we have come down the wrong spur but looking across I saw a hind walk out of the bush onto a slip she kept looking back so we waited for another deer to walk out sure enough we had one each to shoot at.
A bit hard to see photo only taken with my phone.
Two shots later.
So happy as with my new rifle.
