We just got out yesterday from another great week in this great Sika block. The weather was warmer than the same time last year, and roaring was sporadic to say the least, we only had one frost. I hunted in a single top layer, no vest or jacket except when the wind came up while glassing.
I marched up to GH Hut after a morning hunt to catch up with the inbound party and arrange a different heli pick-up time for us. The guys in that bock which is a bit higher had more roaring, they took out a 4,6 and an 8. Dunno how my mates got on yet.
We spent the last three days trying to get onto some stags, two 8's and a 6, but the cunning buggers are still on the hill.
Plenty of km's covered, l left 3.5 kg on the hill.
A cold change came through on our last day, and the roaring seemed to pick up.....bugger!!
Anyhoo, I took some photos.......
