Wow, that brings back memories. I did a couple years game keeping and working as a Gillie over in Scotland.
It's a dramatic landscape, none of the hills are actually that big. Most hills are well under 700m ASL. from memory the highest peak in the UK Ben Nevis is only about 1300m and the locals treat it like its Mt Everest!
Hunting was a dream, loaded with deer, ready access and most times you can drive an atv to collect your kill.
Re Ben Nevis etc. Plenty of overeas visitors, including a few Kiwis, have to get rescued from those hills every year, mostly due to treating them with contempt.

For sure, all countries are good at breeding stupid people. Nz is certainly not exempt, just have a look in any Pack N Save on benefit day.
