Yep how they do it in Scotland. Often the guide or "stalker" will take the rifle for the shooter load it and set it up. Still very traditional up there.
Good watch,my brother is a game keeper/guide in the highlands.Amazing country.
It is a dangerous time of year to hunt up there , as the Haggis gets quite aggressive during the breeding season.

Wow, that brings back memories. I did a couple years game keeping and working as a Gillie over in Scotland.
It's a dramatic landscape, none of the hills are actually that big. Most hills are well under 700m ASL. from memory the highest peak in the UK Ben Nevis is only about 1300m and the locals treat it like its Mt Everest!
Hunting was a dream, loaded with deer, ready access and most times you can drive an atv to collect your kill.
But I've heard they can be calmed by reading Burns to them.Quote:
