A mate and my years ago out scouting an area for goats for a future cull out, got two small ones. Not much bigger than lambs.
While I should've taken one I opted out and let him have them both. He gave one to his hungry gutted mongrel dog and then thought that the other one was a good fit for his big roasting dish (I said they weren't very big). A beef stroganoff mix on top and after a few hours he went to roll it over to brown the other side and the leg bone came out like a well boiled chook. That was a very good sign.
Some of the nicest meat he had ever cooked and he badly regretted giving the other one to the dog first. He solemnly vowed not to do that ever again.
