Continuing on from the June Adventures.

July ticked around and Spence was well keen on getting his first pig, so off we went!
The farmer had given us a good tip off and he was bang on, so was young Spencer's shot.
First pig ticked off.
Following weekend it was time to look for some deer that give the young plantings grief.
Was getting on and with school the next day we were just about to make tracks for the vehicle and head home when out popped a stag. 230 odd yards down across the gully. Spence settled in behind the rifle and fired a shot. Deer disappeared off the small clearing and I heard no sound of a hit. He assured me that the middle of the shoulder was where he aimed. He was right, didn't make it more than 20 metres.
After an absolute mission to get back across the gully, cyclone sure made a mess of things, it was fair to say it was a late end to the day.
The weather didn't play ball but when it did I got a bit of work in. A few deer hit the deck.
Caught some of these
Shot some of these
And these
A few goats had popped up on a property so off with my main man in tow. He had first shot!
Cleaned up another 20 odd before I realised the bullet stash was looking grim. Only 3 rounds left and we wanted to look for a deer.
Off we went.
Target species acquired. Spencer took aim and fired. Once again, no impact sound and the deer disappeared out of sight. I thought he had missed so I jumped behind the rifle and shot one too.
Middle of the shoulder he assured me.....
He was right!
Then it was back off to work again. Crop dwelling pigs didn't like the shotgun with the thermal holo sight on it.
And that's a wrap, bring on next month!
