    Jump starting my mates ticker.

My mobile is a clam type that is rarely turned on. I don't text but receive the odd text including from my old hunting mate. He's got one of those Apple smartphones with apps and all that guff.
Yesterday he was going to be hunting across the stream from us and as we had different road entry points I thought I'd give him a ring to see if he was there yet. If he was hunting , not a problem as I know he turns his phone on silent. People with Apple smartphones never turn them off you know. So it rang and rang then I finally got a whispered answer. "Gidday mate."
I asked him why he was whispering. "Are you still at home?"
"No I'm down by the creek watching over a fresh Sika pad then you rang and scared the shit out of me".
"You forgot to put your phone on silent didn't you" I said.
He replied "No, but it appears when I have the Sika call app on my blue tooth boom box speaker it over rides the silent mode and the phone rings at super load volume through the speaker."
Sika one, mate nil in that creek.

Girlfriend had an uncanny habit of ringing me usually when I was just as I was breathing out-then-squeeze the trigger. Cost me a few rabbits.
But once I lost a deer because of it, fone went onto 'airplane' mode from then on. She used to get a bit pissy bout it,(cos I wasn't at beck and call), but she loved the venison.
    We're no longer together.
    Ya can't park there mate.

I tend to put mine on Aeroplane mode or turn it off.
When I'm out hunting the last thing I want is to be dragged back to the realities of the world

There is no place for a phone (smart or not) anywhere within Cooey of a man in hunt mode.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Airplane mode is your friend! I can imagine the racket, when every sense is hyper alert and a call suddenly comes through... I would probably have expired on the spot!
