June Adventures - Photo Heavy
June started off with a phone call from a farmer who had discovered some pigs on his property. Must have been a few chucked out of a car door at some point as there have never been 4 legged paddock ploughers in this area before.
With my right hand man in tow we managed to take out four before the rest of the mob departed.

Next mission was to remove deer off a property that has had tens of thousands of trees, mostly native, planted over steeper areas. Even in low numbers the deer really do a number on them.
Little mate in tow again and we manage to remove a couple.

Time for a spot of proper hunting so a bush hunt was in order.
First deer stood up from where she was resting in some cabbage tree leaves. The sound of the leaves betrayed her whereabouts and her head popped up 15 odd yards away. Hardly a challenge for the 75gr elds in the .223.

The following day we were wondering down a trail when the dog stopped and refused to move, sure sign there was a deer close. Quarter of an hour passed and my patience was all but used up. Took a couple of steps forward and a deer rushed out and a mew pulled it up partially obscured by a tree. With not much in the way of vital organs showing I slipped a 75gr just below it's spine. Unfortunately I hadn't seen the nubs on it's head otherwise it would have got to see another day.

Time for another wonder with the young fulla trying to get him another deer. Wasn't to be as they come out a bit far away right on dark so Dad had to do the deed.

Then it was back to the pigs again and the final big breeder hit the deck.

Then the final weekend of duck season was upon us. The .410 was on fire and Spence managed 3 ducks for 3 shots.

And that's a wrap. July is upon us and the adventures continue.
PS NIMROD should post up some of his adventures of proper hunting like he used to I reckon
