    KA BOOM! @ Snee Rd

An evening hunt to test drive the 270 WSM last night. No sooky attachments like mufflers or breaks. I don't recall feeling any recoil.

288 Yds. Dialed in 2moa. Federal Fusion factory.
Bullet pass through and big holes. Didn't take a step.

It was standing next to an opened up wallow.

Looks dead to me, miles too dead for a unsuppressed factory rifle...

    That's a fair question.

It was blowing a gale from behind me and I was going to give up because I thought my scent would have stuffed it. But every now and again when I got on the lee-side of the ridge I was on she would wind/indicate a bit. It told me that maybe the wind was going high off the ridge and there might be still something lower down, and the wind was eddying back up.

So I persisted and my hunch (well, her hunch actually) was correct. I spotted the deer through my binos 300 yards away in a hole in the scrub, so she had no part in that part.

Then when I got over to the face I shot it on I couldn't for the life of me find the spot amongst the scrub, so I moved up higher and around a bit and asked her to find it. Funny enough, she scented me to within 15 yards of where it was but she couldn't actually find it. I actually did. Dunno what that was about. She was off in another direction rushing around with her nose in the air.

It was the 60th deer I have shot with her.

You are way behind the eight ball Checked it out last week. Mine's a Tika though. Yours looks like a 24" Rem?
Anyway, it can stay as it is for a while. Am quite enjoying it and have bought some dies and projectiles.

Did you get my recent PM?

@Tahr have you tried the stock from your 708 on it? I think the action length's will be the same.
