    Kaweka Hararei

Left early Wednesday am with @Monk driving(so I could get ma beauty sleep), picked up Riley and headed to Hawkes Bay.
Out of the truck, and off down the track. We started climbing which was a slog and a half as usual.
Got to the camp spot, setup the fly's and had a feed while glassing.
Into the fart sacks and then up just before light.
We knew where the stags would be, spotted some and made a plan.
@Monk got Riley sorted and lined up and Riley dropped a 6 pointer at 540 yards, not bad for 15 ish.
Had some breakfast , packed light and headed the 450m straight down to the creek, then up the creek to find the stag lying in the creek.
Riley was a happy lad, and should be as it was a great shot.
They sorted the head etc and packed up and we headed back up to camp in time for lunch.
Had a great avo, lying around shooting the breeze then the fog rolled in so back under the flys into the sleep position around 7pm.
Was foggy all night and everything got wet, and with the forecast not looking good we pulled pin packed up and headed out.
Back at the truck dry clothes were a big relief.
Got home later that evening, another successful trip with a narrow window in the weather well utilised.

I must mention new gears I've got recently.

The zenbivy quilt/sheet/pillow setup=wow, never using a sleeping bag again
    https://zenbivy.com/pages/light-bed

The Optimus cooker/pot set from Jamie at
    https://www.huntersnewzealand.co.nz/ =wow

And the blue cam gear bags still going strong on their 5th year made in Wellington by my wife Diane at s_l_outdoors on Instagram.

Also got some Warfighter pants off this forum, in the pic of us 3 one fingee saluting, best pants ever. Fit ma booty well, belt loops, pockets, zips, lightweight fabric that stretches, wow just wow for these pants.

Kia ora bro, the brown stocked one is a Tikka Strata in 243 and the other is Tikka Strata in 300wsm, both with carbon fibre stocks.
