Kawekas 2018 - The Backridge Edition

We spent last week in the Kawekas, chasing the little Sika Deer that apparently hide there.

We saw ten and took a couple home.

Thar is going to do a bit of a write-up; here's some of the photos and video.

We had one each of them, they really are crap aren’t they? The Kaweka meals are so much better. I had the beef and red wine three times and didn’t get sick of it!

Yes @Nathan F, I need to admit that it was you who first got me interested in the area. Once you vacated Craig and I just sort of segway'd into your vacant spot. We go down the the other end though. Less traffic and a lot shittier country. Suits us fine.

Yes Jimmy and I used to hunt down there a bit but travel back to the Biv in the dark. Thats when I was fit and didnt mind walking another 90 mins after dark. Beaut part of the park down there thats for sure . Love seeing the familiar photos . Its been ten years since I was last there ! Can you believe that ? Seems like only yesterday I was busting my nuts to leave work on a Friday and race up to Makahu and skip up and over the back for the weekend . Long sigh ..........

@Nathan F You will have plenty of time for some repeats when your family is older.
