    I’ll post a report and some photos of this weekends trip to a block in Kaikoura that I’ve shared information with a few of you in the past.

    It was fashionable when I had it built, it’s popularity promoted by its success in F-Class shooting competitions at the time. Like anything fashionable it seems to be surpassed by other calibers lately.

    None the less it’s my favourite rifle, it just happens to be a .284.

    Yeh I think with a shortened barrel, suppressor with a 150- 160 class bullet at 2750-2800 they would have plenty of knockdown. Ideal for bush hunting and for when the longer shot presents itself on a slip or up a long river bed.

    You know it! You should fully convert to .284 WIN :-)

    I eventually found my 7mm Rem Mag to be too long to carry comfortably.
