You get the sense of pent up frustration and anticipation of just getting away in the fourth paragraph on. Then the prescribed dose of alps takes effect and the worlds back on track.
Very good writing and the photos just fill in the picture.
The last photo amused me, its just the way the rifles slung but it certainly appears to have a long barrel for getting that little bit closer to your target.
It's my "radio aerial" according to @tonyd haha. It's just a factory magnum finnlight (24") with a T2 brake on it, shorter overall than most 22" rifles with suppresors on.
Great that you could get away and blow the cobwebs out. Good for the mind and the soul.
Cant wait to get back into the big country, can't remember which end of the binos I look through....
