Well Done Happy Jack, you have to be happy with that one for your first Stag, may it be the first of many. As older blokes the emotionless emotions are just a part of our upbringing i reckon, i am the exact same.

I climbed Mt Isobel off Jacks Pass Last week, beautiful country down that way, we had 4 nights in Hanmer and really enjoyed the stay and cam away with plans to get down there more often. My dog winded strongly off the track to Mt Isobel and took me down onto fresh prints and sign and over towards a bush filled gut. Didnt have the rifle with us but wished I did..

Good on you Shearer for passing on some knowledge, I started pretty late in life hunting and have a great mate that helped out when I started out that I really appreciate the time spent.
