Well done on the perseverance! Paid off in the end.

Had an experience in the early 90's with a pearler Jap stag. Shot him in the throat from 4m away when were both on our knees in tight dirty scrub. Heard him cough up about a gallon of blood, then stumble off down the hill...then prints turned uphill. Lost him. Went back with dog three days later. Not found. Found him 6 months later. He had gone 800m!!!!
