My Mate is coming hunting to New Zealand

A very good friend of mine Bill Evans is coming to NZ for nine weeks on 10th february, I don't know what hunting he has arranged but I have told him of this site and he is going to come on here. He is a very experienced hunter but has never been to NZ before -any advise or information would be good to pass on to him .I usually put pictures of my crystal engraving on here - wish I was coming to NZ with my mate Bill

I hope he's fit because hunting in NZ tested me in ways North American hunting never has! Where is he going to be starting off? If it's lower North Island then I can suggest a spot to go for a warm-up on goats.

Hi all already on the site,will be starting in the Queenstown area and will have a 4x4 for the rest of the stay. South Island first then up to the North Island also will be bring my .308 win.ANY advice welcome. Regards Bill E.

Welcome Bill. Good on ya. Perhaps tell us about the type of hunting you would like to do and then sit back and wait for the offers of assistance. There are some good forum buggers in the South Island and lower North Island that I am sure will help out. You may have to suffer the odd POME joke but that will just be the Antipodean lout coming out in us.

My mate Bill is an older bugger than me and I'm 65 !!!but he is much fitter and doesn't smoke !!! he is used to Scotland hunting and the Cleveland hills in England so he will manage ok

Bill is coming to hunt down blokes who tell bad pommie jokes :o:) but then again after the performance ( or non performance ) of our cricket and rugby teams we deserve the pommie jokes

A quick update.
Bill is having a ball and is concerned that 9 weeks isnt long enough to do it all.
Seems he is getting stuck into the SI goats and fallow, and making lots of friends by gifting venison backstraps. :thumbsup:
Currently in the Te Anau area and keen fo explore some more.
He is happy for me to put his number up for anyone who may want to touch base.
