A Nelson Bushstalkers photo essay from the last few years

Havnt done too many stories on here so with the roar starting thought i share some photos from my bush stalking DOC land around my region.
Rifle of choice has either been my trusty 243, charter arms 22 inch SS using 100 gr FED Powershoks with a bushnell elite 3x9x40 scope or my Rem 700 308, 24 inch using 165ssts with a leupold VXi3 3.5x10x40 scope.

Done pretty well with the local stags, some in the roar and some not. I recken the bench mark for a good bushstalking stag around here due to poor heads is either, ...8 points or better, 30 inches in length or better and 200ds or better.

Heres some , all taken with the 243 mostly

Shot quite a few other deer, the odd pig, some goats , some within 30mins of nelson, some a little fewer all in DOC land.
Quite often just drive and stop on the main highway, walk into the bush and see whats in there. The number of deer arent high but you do get a few handy ones or a pig etc.

Well, theres a few pictures of some of the scrubby animals around the region, put in the hard yards getting out there and walking in the bush you stumble into something.
    Cheers.
Last picture is the 308 before changed the scope and stock
