A nice morning walk with the Boss.

We decided to go for a walk early this morning to look for a sneaky little Fallow.
I put the VX3 4.5-14x40 CDS on the T3 22 Terminator yesterday & got the 70grain GMXs going at 3325 fps
I figured they would be more suitable than the 75 Amaxs at 3200 in the bush.
So I thought that would be nice to take it for a walk.

We got up early & got to the road end at dawn.

We walked up the track before venturing off to see if we could find a Fallow.

It hasn't rained for a while so it was good old cornflakes for us

We found a bit of sign nothing really fresh, the little buggers are there though.

    We stopped for a snack.

We found the clearing that I was looking for but it was a non-event, not easily huntable.

We stopped to look around & to be quiet

We ran out of sign & it was starting to get hot so we decided to head to a nearby track to make it easier to get back to the ute.

On the way we discovered a victim of the trapping program, they do a great job getting rid of these little shits

We stopped for a break & to take in the day & what a beautiful one it was, the typical Nelson crap

All in all a great day with great company, very nice walk

Good on ya KG, a similar result to my jaunt at the weekend. Dry as buggery and very little useful sign.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Hi KG, i had a similar experience in the Hunuas south of Auckland on saturday, went in with my new hunting rig, 25-06 Stevens 200, VX2 3-9 X 40.....practised my 'silent as a ninja' moves in the bush looking for goats...

Sweet fuck all......but still enjoy getting out and giving it a go.....better luck next time.....

Good to see that Stoat in the trap. We've got one round here at the moment, it got six baby Pheasants and one of our Pheasant hens in the last week. I've got a few traps set so hopefully it won't last long.
