The stags go back into the native during the roar so they are a bit hard to keep tabs on. But I have got to know a few of the stags and its good to see how they move around during the seasons. Some I recognize as soon as I spot them. In the vid there's an excellent spiker which I won't shoot. I've seen him 3 times now.
Some ratty ones too, that are fair game.

Nice work Tahr. Its a good feeling getting to know a block that well you know some of the animals living there eh
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

Yeah, its nice. I have always wanted to do it since reading Colin Davey's book. But chasing deer for a living intervened.

Now though, Ive got the time and am lucky that I have closed access through a farm to a big scenic reserve. No one else hunts my little area and the neibour won't let hunters on at all. So its like a little paradice. Dundee plugs away at the other side, but its far enough away to not disturb my area.
I do have to keep numbers down though becasue that was the reason I was invited in. But I'm sort of settled in to shooting culls and the odd whopper

I still love public land hunting though. That's my first love.

Yeah. Most of those I filmed come and go from the reserve.

I hope that that comment doesn't stall Google, as members feveriously type in "Snee Road Reserve" to do a search

PM CraigC. He might be prepared to step down as my eldest son. Include a pic of your boat, house and current bank balance.
